Is this a change of pace for UP? Grey paint w/ yellow stripe?

I hope they do some more of these, we can give Amour Yellow a rest eh?

I’ll bet it would look sharp with the American flag decal, too. [tup]

Woah… where was that shot taken at?
Are you sure that isn’t just a dark primer grey?
NOW I TRULY LIKE THAT. OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD…
I REALY REALY LIKE THAT. SWEEEEET!
With complete lettering, striping, and emblems? Looks a little too shiny for primer.
Doesn’t UP use grey for its remote control locomotives?

I’m not sure, of course, but I wouldn’t think that is it just a primer coat - not with all the other lettering and detail work in place.
i give it 2 thumbs up. keep up the good work, UP
Monday at the paint shop. “That UP 6344 is ready for service, but it seems like we forgot something.”
Quite a while back I remember seeing a gray GE with UP lettering. I don’t think it had the wings and I remember having the impression that it looked like an ex-SP with a bigger patch job than usual.
There are RCO control units made out of old GE standard cab units that are gray. I believe they also are just the carbody and cab, the prime mover fuel tank and traction motors have been removed.

That IS a photoshop. I just did this one recently.

Not that hard to do at all, this took me 5 minutes.
Here is the picture of the REAL UP #6344.
Also, look at the grey lines, and the red striping. Not the best photoshop job.
seeing that this was a ex-SP unit i really think this is real.
Ah, shucks! And that was such a nice looking paint job too. Do you suppose that someone from UP might see it and make the necessary changes for real?
UP has taken to painting some of their hump pushers in gray.
Most are older ex SP units.
We have a lot of the C30s done like that down here at the hump in Englewood.
I SURE HOPE THIS IS A NEW TASTE OF POWER FOR THE UP. BECAUSE I REALY LIKE IT,ALOT.
I’m not going to debate whether the paint job is real, photoshop or whatever… (maybe it’s the work of a really good tagger?) It looks better the SP/UP patched/whatever that big black blob is on the nose is.

It kind of looks like a KCS locomotive
It’s cool… It doesn’t look like a photoshop job… but, then I could be wrong. But that looks cool. I like it.
