What ink?

Just got a couple of cars that are painted up for a local firm. I was thinking about running them over to the plant and getting the owner and some of the people there to autograph them.

What should I get for them to autograph the cars with so that I can overspray the autographs with some clear krylon to preserve the signatures?

My guess is that a Sharpie permanent marker would be best, but you should probably test how it holds up to being oversprayed.

roger that!

I have used clear Krylon over Sharpie. Use a light dusting coat first, then a heavier coat later.

I used a paint pen from Wal*Mart’s craft section.

I have used sharpies the add names to ciramic cups before they were glazed and fired. When fired they were perfiect, stay away from glossy serface it will smudge before drying

Paint pen wins. Had e-mails from several who have had mixed results using sharpie, yet quite a few who swear by the paint pen. Thanks for the input everybody!

Really? The color stays the same when you fire it? Interesting.

Actually Bob, the paint pen is the way to go. It may not show up real good on the sides of those cars, but on top, just what you need.

Bob mate; I wouldn’t do it. It may well affect the long termmvalie of the cars. people go out of favour and so do their signatures.
Did i tell you about my autograph by Richard Nixon!
