In a fruitless search through the FAQ part trying to find out if I can add pix to a post or not, I came a cross reference to an AVATAR. What is an AVATAR and will it enable me to place pictures in a posting like the old forums easily permitted?
Hi Tony,
The Avatar is the photo of me you see here. The signature photo is the Santa Fe Northern amidst some rug juniper and a distant maple tree. Just paste your photo [.img]xxxx[/img.] like normal.
Posting pictures will differ with the browser used , the only one which works reliably for us is Netscape 7.1, all others have one glitch or another. Cause: The software mangles the code which is being inserted when posting. ER
I’m using Mozilla Firefox on my PC and at work I use that on my Mac. Never had any problems with this new format.
OK. I see. You have to do it with html code. Not very user friendly compared to the old way. Especially if you don’t know html stuff.
Tony, When I was a boy an avatar was almost a forbidden subject… It used to be a religious artifact or idol or person embued with the power of its GOD. Any Hindu Temple will have dozens of them. When we got married a mutual friend gave us one from his temple, (it’s an avatar of Ganeesh). We still have it although her father will not have it in the same house when he visits, mine thinks it is a nice piece of carving. Our son simply likes it! When I make puddings and cakes in the kitchen -for some reason I can always feel it looking at me in an expectant manner!!! regards ralph
I use 262 Stitch[:D]
Wasn’t at all hard to do using MSIE. I just hit the browse button and selected the gif.
