i’m still working on the MDC old timer 2-6-0 i was working on last weekend . ok i’m slow , so what ? last week i was having trouble with paint coming off the frame even after i’d primed it . this week i repainted it and sprayed dullcoat over the black , it seems much much better . took me a few hours to get all the binding out of the side rod / crosshead mechanism . my new problem is how to attach the motor to the frame in a way that doesn’t conduct electricity . any ideas ? non-conductive screw of some kind ? then it will be the challenge of installing a dcc decoder
I attended the First Frost Train Show in Allentown, PA yesterday. Now my head is spinning with things seen and “big” ideas! Following that, we stopped by the yard in Allentown to do some railfanning. Not much action tho. But it sure was a neat train filled day! Great!

last BUMP!!!
Had a couple of structures in a box so I decided to combine and work in mortar and came up with the following.
I had 3 things this wekend that I wanted to get done.
-
Start putting down track- I got a lot more than I thought I would, almost 9 feet down.
-
Finish weathering a few buildings- Just about have those finished.
-
Weather a few cars- Got that finished.
I needed to get all track work and what little additional bracing that needs to be added before I move on to the layout’s scenery. For those that know I have three layouts, I’m of course referring to my N scale DeWitt-Lavaca Route.
I weathered a container.
I glued down about 15’ of main line roadbed last night , then I spent today raking up leaves( Billions of them!!!).
Tom that mine track is fantastic and if your looking for some HOn2.1/2 stuff theres a place here in Maine that sell some. Train & Trooper, heres there site
