I refer to my fantasy railroad as the Cuyahoga Valley and Cleaveland Union Terminal Railroad Company. At the moment the railroad operates an 0-8-0 switcher and a Pennsy K-4 reverse Pacific (a 2-6-4). It supports terminal operations and local freight runs on a line south to Akron and Youngstown with interchange at Youngstown with the P&LE. Main freight interchange is with the New York Central, Nickel Plate Road and Pennsylvania railroads in Cleaveland yard.

That’s model railroading for you.

I have a few cool things for the NorthEastern System, Which Includes The PRR’s electric lines, along with some Electrics like the GF6Cs, In the scheme they were delivered in in 1985-1994,

There’s also some E25Bs, E44s, E50s, and E60s.

For Diesel Power, there’s mostly Older EMDs, as The NE saw how GE’s liked to toaster, And outright banned any diesels from being powered on under the wires, Leading to Power Sharing between engines. Most of the power consists of Fictional GP60DMFs (GP60M cab, Full Cowl body, Dual Mode capability) and SD40DMF-2 engines.

@Bigguy511, do you want me to draw out what the GP60DMF would look like? Same thing with the SD40DMF-2?

Sure, Thanks! I drew the Non-Cowl version of the SD40. I recently lost access to my art software and a ton of projects I didn’t save(Thanks, Ai-Based blocking extension from my school) However the SD40DM-2 made it out.
Edit: Found it!

It’s based on an SD40T-2 frame and is basically an elongated SD40F-2 with a pantograph.

I also realized the pantograph was reversed

I might use the EMD SDP40F as a base and work my way to the front after adding some modifications

I will do that if your ok with me using the SDP40F as the base

Yeah, That works!

It’s 2 feet longer than the SD40T-2, that’s why I had to make sure!

I’ll get it done as soon as I can!

Heck, With the NE’s relatively Fast Freight trains that would be even better

You would NOT put pans on the radiator section, whether or not using the ‘tunnel motor’ fan locations. They best go where the Garrett proposal for a dual-mode SD40-2 had them (volume 2 had the technical details; Volume 4 the revised envelope when a safety cab was used). There were decent drawings of the side elevation that could be used for ‘paint shop’ purposes…

As I recall, they preferred the Brecknell-Willis to Faiveley pans if money were no object…

@Bigguy511, Finished the cowl variant

I call it the NLW/EMD SD40MACF-2DM

The pantograph is located where the steam generator would be on an SDP40F
I also removed the panels on the sides of the unit to get a more flush finish

You could designate it how you had it before if you want

Here’s another variant @Bigguy511

This one has the pointed nose for better aerodynamics

Cool! I might also model one because i have an FP45, however i’ve changed the platform for the GF6 project.

Edit: Added the image!

I had to fix something on the pointed nose unit (probably the main unit rather than the flat nose unit

The rear electrical cabinet had the wrong part
