Q: “What the heck is going on at the MTH website?”

I know I should be better behaved, but you lob a nice fat softball like that in my direction, I just can’t help but send it for a ride:

A: “Don’t know, but somebody’s gonna get sued.”

Goodbye Mr Spaulding . . . .

Deputy, what website were you at? The correct website to download any DCS stuff is www.protosound2.com I just checked, it’s up and running. HTH!

I tried it again and it works. But VERY slowly. And the Product Search seems to be inoperative too.

I’ve also noticed that various ports of the website are “iffy”.

Part of the reason that I almost never buy MTH equipment.

About like their shipping schedule, IFY. [;)]

Still messed up today…very intermittent at best.

Just been to MTH trains.com and it is SUPER SLOW if useable at all!! Seems like MTH.com got attacked by a pack of wild dogs! Nothing working well.

Tried to get on MTH site today and it wouldn’t open.

Got on to do a search but it locked up and now I can’t get back on. Good grief! Their webmaster should be shot! [:(!]

I asked a very nice customer rep at MTH what was going on with the MTH website. It’s running slower and slower every day. Here is her reply…

Hello. Thank you for contacting MTH Electric Trains. We are aware of
the current problems accessing some areas of the MTH website. The
website is being worked on now and we hope to have all the features
fully operational very soon. We are very sorry for the inconvenience
this causes to our customers. We will send an email notification
when these issues have been resolved.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Thank you,

Kirstin

The MTH website has been practicly inoperative since the new catalog came out in October. It has been widely discussed on all the forums. Not sure what the problem is, just glad their trains work better than their web site. [;)]

Went to the LHS to get a PE hand-car, compared the one available from MTH, and went home with MTH. Car ran smoother, heavier, made of steel as oppossed to plastic, and $20 cheaper.

Here’s a back door that works super fast:

Website Backdoor

[:D]

That’s odd…the backdoor seems to have all the wonderful MTH features like downloadable sounds disabled. All I get is a lot of advertising for CHEAP trainsets. HA! [(-D] Okay guys…just kiddin’. Don’t come down on me again. [bow]

Good News!!! Things have sped (speeded?) up considerably on the MTH website. The search engine is working at about 75% and the catalog archive seems to be working pretty well too. Hehehe…looks like my squeaky wheel to the powers-that-be got some grease [:D] [tup]

The clock battery in your computer needs time to recharge after you log on. Make sure it is fully charged before going into the MTH website. Otherwise you will scramble your software and crash your computer.

I have been having the same problems with their website. So, I called their office and had them do the product search for me. The nice lady I talked to was not surprised about the issues with the website, but she refused to elaborate on the problem.

Regards,

John O

John: I’m glad you called them. If enough of us squeaky wheels let them know what’s going on, it may stir them into action. It seems to be better than it was. I’d say overall they are at about 50% of what it should be. Seems to be random as far as whether you get the info you want or not.
