What tips can u give me for making my mine train

i plan on running a o guage from the side of my yard to my back yard so i can pick up chert and being it back to the side of my yard to wherehouse the length of the yard is 2 sq acers and the run from side yard to mine will be 0.5-1.0 acers long the goal is to use the o guage engine i have with coal porters and a rotery dump to emepty. if i can find it i might use a automatic gravel loader to help the rock loading process if not just a tower hopper that i can dump shovel full of rock at a time into the hope is for a full train to be around 35-50lbs of rock and the rest being car weight there are some inclines i will have to figure out but for the most part it seems like my biggest challange is hills later on once the pit is deep enough i want to run a circle around the outside of the mine to bring the train into the mine. so what would you all suggest how should i start and what should i use as bedding for the track and with bridges shall i go with soder/welded sheet metal or have our local stone-smith make me bridges(seriously bro makes everything including my wolf statues)also what should i use when crossing our houses driveway to make the railroad crossing or is that to the point where i need to start some cement work or comission the stone guy to make me a crossing.

Hello,
a lot of questions, I’ll try to touch on all the points.
With garden Railroading, it is important to use materials that will hold up outdoors. With G gauge, the rails are brass, or sometimes Stainless steel. The ties should be a material that is UV resistant.
Some people use 0 gauge outdoors, and I looked at it at one time, but concluded it is far easier to use G gauge trains and track since they were already made for outdoor use. With 0 gauge, at the very least, it will require a smooth and solid sub road bed. G is easier, because in many cases you can just put down the track and ballast it and you’re done !
Do some research and look at some videos before making a decision. Personally, I would encourage G gauge track and materials.

ahh the reason were going o at the moment is because of availability we just need the track on o and we pretty much are ready to run on G we need track we need an engine

we need cars either way so that point is nil with o guage at least for short term if we just get the track(witch another point o guage track is easy to find in my area at flea markets and resale shops) then we can start making money right away as opposed for waiting on the G plus another bonus is with the O we can use it to make the money for the G scale too instead of relying on the HO’s candle facility for money alone

witch is y were considering o at least temporarily because we have 1 acer of track to run
