So I am going on a day trip to Grand Junction, and I want to know what there is to see there. (And yes, I am aware of 9741 and am going to make it a priority target there; it’s the whole reason I came up with the idea to go there.) So besides 9741 (one of the only two I believe-R.I.P. 9771- former CNW locomotives still in original paint, the other being the famous 6706.), I know there are also BNSF, Amtrak, and of course, UP yards there. I will try to make the Amtrak a target while I’m there as I only have one Amtrak on film, and it’s not like I can see any here on the CJL. But with the UP and BNSF, as I’m sure they have locals out of those yards, are there any interesting locals, or any noteworthy operations out there?
