Whats you favorite fallen flag

SCL

You all have it wrong. It’s the Lackawana/Erie, only because the Delaware&Hudson is still running under the Canadian Pacific Flag.

nothing can beat the SP&S; the rythm in the name alone - pure railroading ![:p]

ATSF and DRGW!

Bridgton & Saco River Railroad

The SP&S is my favorite fallen flag. My uncle was an engineer and took me down to the Vancouver yards to switch with him. I live about 1 1/2 blocks from the old SP&S tracks and can still hear the steam whistles every so often.

My favorites are: B&O, Wabash, Western Maryland, and the Green Bay & Western

Baltimore and Ohio Railroad ,Linking 13 Great States with the Nation
Pennssylvania Railroad,Standard Railroad of the World
Man from Ohio.

The Reading Company of course

Growing up in the South, I remember the purple of the ACL, the citrus of the SAL and green of the Southern. My favorite was the SAL, frequently riding back and forth to the University of Florida from Ft Lauderdale on the Silver Meteor.

Pennsy

I love the Southern Pacific. There is something about L-windows and lots of lights that I really admire.

All of the ones that I grew up with: CNJ, Reading, Lehjigh Valley, B&O and the Pennsy. I model the firsdt three in HO.

The D&H and the RUTLAND they both ran in my back yard in upstate N.Y.

As you can probably see from my screen name I’m a big fan of the West Point Route (Atlanta & West Point/Western Ry. of Alabama)…it’s a toss-up between the Georgia Railroad Group (Georgia RR/ Atl. and West Pt./W of A), the Central of Georgia, and Seaboard Air Line…I also miss pre-Conrail NS.

For me it was the New Haven, O&W, and the Long Island

Frisco, Katy, and MOPAC, the RR’s that serviced the area where I grew up. Where I live now, probably B&0, Chessie, and Western Maryland.

Doug

Doug B, sounds like you are from near to the area where I grew up. That is around Springfield, Mo. Drop me an email, I love to hear from other Frisco fans, and for that matter any and all railfans and rr ers.

N.Y. Central ,RULES …20th century…Santa Fe and Pennsylvania next

5yrman The New York Central was definitely a good railroad and has a great history. It too is one of my favorites. It certainly didn’t deserve the fate it suffered.

Stay safe, and Look, Listen, and Live.

Don’t forget our troops.
