I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the back-to-back wheel spacing for HO is. I have noticed that my Athearn engines range from 14.16mm to 14.56mm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg

This link should take you to the NMRA standards for wheels.
http://www.nmra.org/standards/rp-4.html
If you explore the rest of the site, you get all the standards for track and car weights and who knows what.
BR60103,
Thanks for the information.
You should get yourself an NMRA HO scale standards gauge. It is very helpful in setting the proper distances in wheels, track, turnouts, clearances, etc.
If you take a good look at the NMRA standard gauge, it controls the distance between the flanges rather than the back to back spacing. Flange to flange spacing is actually more critical since the wheel thickness can vary but the flange is what keeps the wheel on the rail.
