Where can I get more information on Southern Pacific narrow gauge? I just read a part in a book about it and was wondering if there are any sites on the interent giving more information on this unigue line?
THE book on this line (ex Carson & Colorado) and the rest of the railroads of that area is David Myrick’s Railroads of Nevada and Eastern California. It’s a 2 part book (one covers the northern area and the other covers the south). I think it was first published in 1962. It is still available I’m sure.
I don’t know of anything on the net off hand.
I did a quick search and found this:
This is the lowest price I found for the Myrick books:

Also you might check out this site:

This is the museum town of Laws, on the C&C (SP). They have a great bookstore and I’m sure they would carry any book available that covers that line. I think I bought my RRs of Nevada and Eastern Cal southern roads book there.
The dinifitive book is Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge by Mallery Hope Ferrell, publised by Pacific Fast Mail in 1982.
Amazon.com has two ussed copies listed
There is an SP narrow gauge group on Yahoo
