Where is it? (Photo) SOLVED

Phoenix? [(-D][(-D][(-D]

Not quite! A bit north of there…[(-D]

You’re in Wisconsin, on some trackage that was once operated by CNW. Beyond that, I’m at a loss.

Warmer…(but wasn’t in the picture)

Since the image was taken on 12:20 PM with snow falling…

Referring to the Weather Service maps of today’s weather events reveal a possible area stretching from Fargo ND to Chicago Il.

Hardly a precise area to guess in.

There is nothing in the image except a red engine with some kind of stripes on the front. That’s it; Im betting those are DOT stripes:

This image says Eldora IA as a possible location but not sure.

CN Branch from Appleton to New London, WI ??

… or WSOR north of Milw - heading to Plymouth ??

Nope…way off!

Close…wrong on the WSOR

CN Neenah - Manitowoc line? Near Waverly Beach?

The high headlight on the loco is throwing me off a bit.

Breaks out map and starts to cross off nope lines and by process of elimination over time reveal the answer…

Directly above the center of the Earth.

Great guess and I like how you’re thinking…but you’ve likely never run over these lines previously owned by your former employer.

Right road, wrong line.

Dan: I zoomed in on the left side of the photo. I see 2 snowflakes that are exactly alike. Nice catch.

CN between Wausau and Junction City?

Nope…going further away!

Hint:North of Milwaukee…

CP main track 2 eastbound?

Nope. It’s CN trackage with a CN engine on point!
