Where is it? (where the world's fastest trains once trod) - Hammonton, NJ!

Well it’s somewhere in South Jersey, probably on the Atlantic City Line and taken about 1990.

Photo was taken in April 1984, in South Jersey, on what is now the Atlantic City Line. How about a town name?

Sure don’t look lilke Japan, or france

Think 1890’s and high wheeled Atlantics.

Man ---- to think that I rode over that track once – and we weren’t going slow!

I can’t tell you the place name of the photo, but those trips in 1962 were rough as could be and the coachs were horse-hair walkover types with no cush for the tush. Ex P-RSL.

Here’s another clue. The building next to the loco is no longer there, but the PRSL station in the background is, although it is no longer used. It is visible in the Google Local satellite view.

How about Hammondton ?

Hammonton it is! It was where the Shore Fast Line started out keeping their 3 U30Bs. The old PRSL station has since been restored, but the current NJT station is a few blocks to the south.
