Mine is in the bedroom. And yes the answer is that I’m single. Otherwise how else would it happen.
Basement.
Jon [8D]
In an unused bedroom. A bed fits under the layout and rolls out when needed, so it is still a bedroom.
On top of the bed is my test track.

Mine is in the Basement!!!
I have no more dinning room, put it that way.
Upstairs in our Greensboro condo----13x24 and unfinished but wired for running trains on 3 tracks.
Recently dismantled a 14x28, 5-track, twin shelf airborne operation in wife’s kitchen of our mountain cottage. Shelves at 7’-6" and 9’-0" high in 18’ h. room. Built in 1992 to get off of Den carpet.
Spare Bedroom. The Girls have bunk beds! [:-^]
Mine is in a large two car garage. This garage was originallydesigned by the previous house owner to restore old cars. It is insulated, air conditioned and heated with an insulated garage door. It makes a great train room. Also, there is still a car port for the cars.

In my trainroom:
In my Train Room which used to be the spare bedroom in the basement of our raised ranch house.

On a raised crawlspace in the basement.
A small spare bedroom with a full bath…need to remove the televsion and shelving to expand (yeah, right, like THAT will happen…)

Spare bedroom. (Basement…Attic…Garage…Den…Some day! [zzz])
Nice thread idea. Mine is in the attic. Does anyone else have trains in the attic? For those with basements, do you have any rust issues? I always thought basements were always moist. For some reason, a few older track I have is getting rust specs in the attic. Would the basement be better?
My basement is finished and is protected by interior and exterior french drains and a sump pump. The key to the basement is to make sure it is dry and the air isn’t moist.
The problem with attics, is if they aren’t well insulated then you can get extreme temperature changes which can result in condensation which can result in rust.
The key is a constant low humidity.
Go to best buy and get a dehumidifier. Plug it in and just let it run all the time. That’s what I do for humidity.

Mine’s in a bedroom in the basement. The bedroom also has a 1/2 bath tucked in a corner of it. The room size is roughly 13 x 17. I left a 3’ aisle leading from the door to the bathroom door. That aisle also allows easy access to the door hiding the furnace and water heater.

Mine is in a room I added to the back of our house, specifically for the trains.
Includes two G-Scale tracks that run around the top of the room.
The Bar is adjacent to the kitchen window which is now a “pass thru”.
Basement, two connecting rooms – glad the kids are gone.
Laz–big underground garage is my Mancave, only thing missing is flat screen TV.
