WHERE Locos Are At Website

Is there a market for a low-cost railfan website that would convey where specific engines were at, or what power was heading one’s way?

I have no idea how you could keep something like that updated.

The technology IS available. But, is ANYONE interested in where locomotives are at?

Yes I am very intersted where certain locomotives are at. I am trying to keep track of 4 certain ones at the time but I have had no success. Only way possible to log into a railraods computer system. At one point in time, I did have access to one of these computers, and it was wonderful. Any loco I wanted to see where it was at, all I had to do was type in the unit number and there it was. This is the only way possible that I know of, so just keep looking and if you find the site, let me know.

I might be, but it would depend on how accurate/up to date it was, and also on whether this would track all roads, including shortlines, or just, say, BNSF.

On the Union Pacific web site, UPRR.com, there is a public equipment trace. It tells where an engine or car is and where it is going. It includes ETAs. The only problem is, after August 30, you must register with UP.
