Where to buy 1/87 vehicles, tractors, construction equipment?

Anyone know of agood place to buy 1/87 scale vehicles, tractors, construction equipment?

Besides EBay? Look in MR there’s a guy that advertises vehicles, it’s 3000toys.com (I have no affiliation with them).

Also train shows are good source. Walthers scenemaster has some construction vehicles.

Good luck in your search!

Neal

Well, it all depends.

John Deere farm equipment is available at most John Deere dealers. (Tractors, grain harvesters, etc…)

TSC (Tractor Supply Company) in my area has CAT construction equipment. (Excavators, bulldozers, Cement mixer, front loaders, Backhoe, etc…)

Menards carries Beverage trucks. (Bud, Pepsi, Mt Dew.)

And then there are the online dealers, Walthers, Modeltrainstuff, etc… That carry other options.

And, if there are ones near, train shows are a great place to find new, and old stock, scale vehicles.

They have some links to vendors.

I’ve done, and still do, all of the above, Ebay, online sellers, which are too many to mention, and, as Ricky mentioned, check the local farm stores. BUT, check the scale. Many of them only go down to 1/64, you want 1/87. Some stores will order things for you. I’ve done that where I buy parts for my garden tractor projects, from John Deere, as they also carry a large line of toys, and collectors models.

I carry a business card from a couple LHS’s, that have scale rulers on them. It’s easy enough to make your own card size ruler, and mine is in my wallet, and I’ve used them many times.

You can also check out the web sites like:

Some of the builders on here also sell.

My first “go-to” is Ebay.

EDIT: OOOPS! [(-D]. BMMECNYC beat me to it!

You didn’t specify. What era are you modeling or interested in?

Tom

I have used match box then i found this site it’s not bad.

https://www.hobbylinc.com/model-trains

credit valley railway carries alot of that stuff

Trainworld has been a good source for me. Train shows are hit and miss, but if you find a table with what you want, it’s a great option.

What gauge and era are you looking for?

Would help alot if You would say what era/year You are interested in. Also do You want RTR or kits, the latter being easier to come by:

The above photos are all kits…Pewter castings from AlloyForms/Woodland Scenics.

Any large hobby shop should have a nice selection from different manufactures. I myself model late 1950s to early 1960s and find Oxford Automobile Company have a nice and highly detailed selection of cars for my era. Also check out Mini metals. They have a great assortment of cars and trucks avaiable. Check out Ebay for your choices just search," HO scale vehicles" and be prepared to be overwhelmed at the possibilites! Happy searching!

Something I wanted to mention in my first post, when searching on Ebay, do diecast toys, and once there, you can select scale and type.

Mike.

Try american-excellence.com…they have 100s of 1/87 vehicles/trucks/construction equipment, including hard to find items

I’d like to fix up a flat car with a load of John Deere “New generation” tractors, maybe another with crawler type units on it, I might bash a couple 4020 kits into tracked versions or 4020Cs if they would’ve made those.
