Was surprised to find that Lowes & HD do not appear to carry Homasote in NJ.
Anyone know where one can get the material in South Jersey??

Be sure to call first. You’ll often have better luck with smaller dealers rather than the big box stores, which can be hit-or-miss.
You can also buy the material pre-cut and in a uniform thickness from California Roadbed

In Atlanta, I have never found Homasote at any Home Depot or Lowes. However, there are several building supply/lumber yards in the area that carry it for about $23 a sheet. I would start going down the list of these places in your local phone book if the dealer locator doesn’t work. Jamie

Some of the Atlanta area HDs do have homasote, but you are correct, many do not. I purchased my homasote at the Barrett Parkway store in Kennesaw.

Wow…really? That is nice! When I purchased mine (around 2001?) I went to every Home Depot and Lowes in the Atlanta area (boy do I really miss cheap gas!) and of all the places I went, only a few Home Depot stores even knew what I was talking about, and they were special orders only. This is good info to have because the lumber yards are usually only open when I am at work. BTW all of the Carolina Lumbers around ATL do carry it. Thanks agian for the useful info, Jamie
