Kalmbach Publishing
PO Box 3238
Milwaukee WI 53201-3238

I have a renewal envelope in front of me.[swg]

Thank You

You are quite welcome. I love easy questions.[;)][:D]

Don’t know where Big Boy got the Milwaukee address, but Kalmbach has been in Waukesha, Wisc. for more than a decade.

Payments should go to
Kalmbach Publishing Co.
PO Box 1612
Waukesha, WI 53187-9950

I guess if all elis fails, you could click on the top banner for ordering.[:D][8D][:)][:P]

Bob, that address came off a brand new renewal envelope. It is probably a high volume or rush handeling box at the main Milwaukee post office that Kalmbach keeps for subscription renewals. Check with the gang downstairs, they probably get a special delivery of a couple bags per day. This allows them to cut a day or two off the delivery time, and get payments in faster. I used to be a courier, and we had a number of morning mail runs to deliver business mail. It is way faster than route carrier service.

By the way, to a postal worker, Waukesha and Milwaukee are almost meaningless. They only distinguish between 53187 and 53201 and the rest of the branches numbers in the area.

Oh Elliot, there is a BIG difference. The postal workers in Waukesha have to go along with its weird house number system. My Mom and Dad have gone there 10’s of times, always with a map![:O]

To the average person the numbering system may be confusing, but to a letter carrier who knows his route it’s a piece of cake. There is also a difference between sorting and delivering the mail.

One thing I’ve found in this hobby is that you meet people from all professions. I have been friends with many postal workers over the years. My ex wife actually was one for a short time.

Have a good day in school.[swg]

My grand dad was right, you do learn something new every day. I e-mailed our circulation folks and received the following reply:

“Any general subscription orders or payments should be sent to the Waukesha address. The Milwaukee address is solely used for customers replying to our renewals, bills, and direct mail pieces. The responses to these pieces are sent to U.S. Bank downtown who processes all of these orders for us.”

So either address works, so let me give a tip of the hat to Big Boy 4005!

Thanks Bob, I guess that makes us even, because you nailed me on the printer question a couple weeks ago. [;)] ( I knew your address would work too.)

That’s interesting that that box goes straight to the bank. A big shortcut, and time is money. Beside they’re set up to handle that volume, and I’m sure Kalmbach isn’t their only customer.

I don’t actually use the mail for renewals anymore, since I have 3 subscriptions. I simply call and talk to the friendly people in customer service, then order binders, annual publications like Great Model Railroads and Model Railroad Planning, and any new books. Once per year, I put it all on my credit card, then sit back and enjoy.

Amazing what trivia can be found on the forum.[8D]
