[:)] MRC Prodigy
I got my MRC Prodigy last summer, and i love it!!! It is a great system and it does everything i want it to do.
I don’t have a preferance at this point seeing as I have yet to get to that point in building my layout… but I will probably go with the Bachmann EZ Command… seeing as I do N Scale and the price is right for me.
I also got mine last summer and it works great!!!
CSXguy,
No disrespect, but you left out Digitrax!
Sorry Antonio i will add it when i next edit the poll.
I voted for other, before the poll was changed. It would have been Digitrax Zephyr
Hello for all people!!! If you prefer a DCC system that i dont have listed, please tell me so i can add it.
hi
I recently purchased the MRC Prodigy Advance. It has all the features I wanted in a reasonably priced package. It is easy to use and has the ability to grow with my layout (providing I ever get the real one built). It’s not as expandable as most Digitrax systems and does not support a computer interface, but I wasn’t looking for those things. It does come with a nifty handheld throttle with an LCD display that shows the status of the current locomotive selection, along with other details such as programming information for either the main or the program track. I am (at least so far) very satisfied with this system, even though I’m just using it on my temporary (Kato Unitrack on the floor) layout.
I just purchased the Super Empire Builder from Digitrax. My reasons were that I have several friends that use Digitrax and therefore have some nearby help and advice. I can also have them bring their throttles over for an operating session from time to time. I also like the expandability and the large list of things it can do (even though I won’t use most at least for now). Price was not a big issue and with a fairly large layout, I wanted something a bit more than the Zepher.
Do not have DCC as of yet, nor do I have the money for it. I think I will buy Digitrax though as my layout nears completion (mark my words; one day it will be finished) and when I get the $$$ for DCC
I own a bachmann, but you asked which do you prefer. I prefer the most featured, most powerful system, but I can afford the bachmann. It does what I want, and after deducting the engine price of 45 I got DCC for 40. Anyone can afford that to start. It may not be the best, but it is the least expensive.

I voted other since ‘None’ wasn’t an option.
It’s great to see all the diversity in DCC Systems out there. Keep your replies coming!!!
I like the CVP Easy DCC SYSTEM
I recently was looking on the poll on polls and someone badmouthed this poll. Now i know that you all are nice people, so please dont flame up about why this DCC system is better than that one. Just calmly state your likes and dislikes. Thank you.
Lenz. I have the Compact, which seems to be the best value DCC over here at the moment. I like the fact that I can switch between locos quickly, and operate it “by feel” rather than having to take my eye off the layout to find the buttons. I also like the way in which it’s expandable, and that I can use Roco components with it - might be buying one of their starter sets later in the year to get the “Lok Maus” throttle and the ICE express (with sound) - cheaper to buy the set than to buy these seperately!
My only dislikes are the fact that it only uses 2-digit addressing and that it can’t do “programming on the main”. Having said that, being able to put newly “chipped” locos on the programming track in the knowledge that they won’t fry but will just refuse to accept programming is great for peace of mind. I also wish it had more function buttons, though adding the Lok Maus should solve that as it has four seperate function buttons (rather than having to do some complex sequence of button presses on the Compact to access F3 and F4). All in all a great piece of kit for the money!
My Prodigy is perfect for me. I can also “feel” instead of looking at the throttle. The only disadvantage is that there is two digit addressing (Advance has four digit addressing) and you have to have a seperate programming track. It has worked very well for me.
I’m tossed between MRC Prodigy Advance and NCE Powerhouse Pro… Any thoughts?
