Katy
Western Pacific
Missouri Pacific
The Katy unit is the only one close to the original scheme.
Mopac is the best so far… CNW will hopefully be even better.
I see a whole new collection starting here. I would get all three if if they were out.
Any guesses who will come out with the models first.

Tower 55, which might as well be brass. Oh, BTW, I gotta vote for the MoPac. Even though it’s a cross with their early and late designs.

I’m waiting for the rest of them. So far, I’m not impressed very much with any of them.

Tower 55 will be making the models in plastic, but it will be a while before they are out. the OMI brass versions will probibly be out in the next 4-6 months
so far, I really like the Katy version. I was only planning on getting a SP and D&RGW unit (doesnt matter what paint schemes they end up being), but I might have to add the Katy to the list.

I don’t totally care for any of them, but if I had to choose, I’d pick the Katy one. I’d consider getting a model of that one, but it’s not high priority on the list of locomotives to buy. In fact, with my Teenage Budget, I doubt I’ll even get one, I need the money for more important things(namely WSOR locomotives and rolling stock)

That Katy engine is one great looking train. I even have it as my desktop background now[:D]!

I like what UP has done with these new locomotives, but my choice would have to be “other.” My favorite UP Heritage locomotive is #3985, the Challenger.
I would like to see the rest of them before I judge, but right now, I like the MOPAC the best![:D]
I would have voted "none " as well. Of the three so far the WP one is the mostr pallatable but I’m waiting to see the rest. I smell a bunch of HO and N scale Kato’s comming out of this however. Rob
i think the Katy by far looks the best yet, then WP and last MOPAC. honestly,the only one i really cant wait to see is the CNW! [:p][:D]

This is a hard question. Both the Katy and WP are absolutely beautiful. The MoPac is downright ugly. I’m calling it a tie!
