Whistle Stop model railroad store named best in Los Angeles
When I lived in Calif. I went to this store and it has a good slection of items and cars and books too.
Great to hear that the Original Whistle Stop was selected as best in LA. I started my hobby at the Whistle Stop back in the late 60’s and 70’s Fred is a great guy.
I have purchased many items from Fred and Brian and their shop is always great to visit. It is simply the best!

I use to visit this store when I was over at George AFB (Victorville) 20 years ago. It is a great place!
I revisited the store two years ago (while on a business trip) and it is STILL a great place.
I remember when I was a 6-7 years old (back in the early sixties) my dad and grandfather would take me to the whistle stop. What a store! The place brings back some great memories and I’m glad the Original Whistle Stop is still in business. I live in Northern California now, but if I’m ever down in Pasadena again, you can bet I’ll come and pay a visit.
Many years ago one of the partners from The Original Whistle Stop moved to Sacramento and opened a second The Original Whistle Stop (yes, same name and logo) store with a huge selection of items, friendly service and several layouts. He operated it for many years until he decided to retire. It continues to operate as Bruce’s Train Shop today in the same location, just as large as when it was The Original Whistle Stop.
Been there a few times. I once bought a structure kit, got it at a great price and Fred gave me a 50 yr pin to boot. Great place.
