John Galt is the hero of Anne Rynd’s masterpiece “Atlas Shrugged”. You can get it an any library. It is excellent.

John Galt was a Scottish novelist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Galt); it is also the name of the central figure in the novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayn_rand). In the novel Galt’s name also gets applied as a nickname for the new railway built by another central character.
There has been at least one model railroad called the John Galt Line in honour of this novel.
In the Drabble comic strip I’ve often seen mention of “Galtburgers.”
