who pays???

saw a set of spine cars in the hamler siding on csx.they had 4 trailers on them.i figure they set off a hotbox between hamler and holgate so who pays if the trailers are late?my guess would be csx.

I would imagine the insurance department of CSX.

It depends, did the shipper pay for a guarantied delivery time?

im not sure if the shipper did or not .the trailers are 2 schnider 1 jb hunt and an xtra lease trailer.just something matt and I saw yesterday.

This is the main reason that we don’t see as many 5 packs that we used to see.

When they first came out, they were all the rage, until RRs started to realized that if there was something wrong with the 5 pack, up to 15 containers would possibly be deplayed.

Just don’t see the 5 packs like I used to.

In the long run, probably US as the consumer; for what ever
is in the trailer. That is;since there has been a BIG tendancy
to pass along costs to those not responsible for other things that
happen.

I imagine whoever owns the goods inside the trailers. If they were shipped F.O.B loading dock they changed ownership once they got loaded into the trailers. If they were shipped F.O.B. Destination they change hands when they get to where they’re going.
