I seem to have lost track of all the going on’s with all the rail roads over in the US.

What happened to the New York Central line?

Hello Typan,

The New York Central and the Pennsylvania RR merged on Feb. 1, 1967, to form the ill-fated Penn Central. The PC went into bankruptcy in 1970. Penn Central and a host of other moribund East Coast railroads were acquired by government-owned Conrail on April 1, 1976.

Conrail stock went public in 1987. In 1995, Conrail and CSX announced their intention to merge, prompting a counteroffer from Norfolk Southern. The upshot is that CSX acquired Conrail, then sold about half its routes to NS. Both railroads now own parts of the former NYC.

I model US Rail and I am looking for a new road to model. And idears would also be a great Help.

I just wish i Could live over in the US.
when you pay US$79.99 for something it cost me AU$249.99 for it. Makes this hobby very expencive!
