Who's jumped on the latest trend in MR?

According to the latest issue of MR, having a tatoo of your layout on your arm is the hottest thing in model railroading. [(-D]

Who has one? Post a picture.

Enjoy

Paul (who’s afraid of needles and will give this one a miss)

Hmmm…Would that be in the “April” issue? I wonder…

I’ve actually thought about a steamer or big deisel tattoo.

Paul,

After all the hinting on the forum the past couple of days, I think you just gave away the April Fool’s portion of this month’s MR issue…[B)]

Tom

I missed reading that article, but like you, I will skip that trend. It will not be the first idea in MRR that I have not adopted. However, I have liked the trend to show great artistry that can act as an inspiration if not a standard to follow.

I was going to, but being a teacher at a rather conservative private high school, I opted for a peel-off decal instead.

Tom [}:)]

Had that done 25 years ago - right across my flat stomach. Unfortunately my mainline has morphed into Horseshoe Curve.

Now, that there’s funny![(-D][(-D]

Hhhhhhmmmmm…well

Besides the diamond stud and saphire stud in my ear, my right nipple is pierced with a ring with a big ball on it. I call it a door-knocker.

Does that count?

It must be April again!!!

I’m still waiting for someone to come down the street with a 3-ring binder on the chest. Now THERE’S a fashion statement…[%-)]

Tom

AWW CRAP ! You’ve probably ruined the only interesting article in this issue.

Just Kidding !

Well, not a 3 ring binder, but the original idea was to get both nipples pierced. That way a chain could hang between the two. A friend said he wanted to get his nipples pierced, and do that but I said he didn’t have the nerve. I’d pay for both of us to be done if he’d really do it. At $125.00 PER nipple, not a cheap idea in 1997. Needless to say I went first, did it, and he didn’t. Coward.

ANd I never got the other one done cuz I didn’t want to be lead around and chained up to my fav, a 2-8-2 Mikado and dragged around![:-^] There. that made this a railroad topic again![#dots]

I wont be doing a tatoo but my mom believed it.

Some of you may have seen the billboard south of Louisville visable from I-65. It says: “Tatoo Charlies - Done while wait.” Then it gives driving instructions.

As Info.

Well I bet Tony Koester is real glad he did not have the Allegheny Midland tattooed on him, because now he’d be having it scraped off in favor of the Nickle Plate.

Dave Nelson

I browsed the magazine quickly yesterday to try and pick out the April Fool’s joke but couldn’t figure out which one it was. I didn’t even think about the tattoo even though I saw it. If I had read that the were claiming it was a trend, I might have figured it out. I can imagine one guy might do something that goofy.

I just barley glanced over the artice, that looks like a really good trackplan! I forgot about that being the april fools edition, its my first ever recieved through mail as I am newly subscribed!

I think I’ll just stick to my USAF tatoo and forgo anything bigger!

PS that is NOT me[:D]

You can’t take the picture of the tattoo seriously, #1, its the April issue, and #2 the guy in the picture is far too buff to be a member of the MR staff ! [(-D]
