Will Proto 87 Wheelsets work with CVT Turnouts?

Hi Guys,

Quick Question regarding hte P87 wheelsets I’ll be using. Are the wheelsets compatible with CVT frogs, or will I have to replace them with frogs from Proto87.com?

P87 wheels only work with P87-spec frogs. Gauge widening must be very limited on curves.

NMRA code 110 wheels work with NMRA-spec HO frogs and over the full tolerance of NMRA-spec track.

NMRA code 88 wheels will usually work with NMRA-spec HO frogs. For code 88 wheels to work well, both the flangeways and track gauge need to be at or very close to NMRA minimum (0.040" for flangeway) in the vicinity of the frog. Where flangeways and track gauge are wider than minimum, but still within spec, there will likely be some wheel drop at the frog, especially on larger number frogs. Rigid truck side frames and filled frogs may limit this wheel drop.
