Window Glazing for Structures

I saw an article in July 2007 MRR, p.76 about using Weldbond and Krystal Kleer instead of clear styrene for windows. I don’t understand exactly how these work. The article said, “I dip a straight wire coat hanger and rub the dab of cement accross the back of the window frame.”

How does a dab of cement cover the window opening?

Thanks, Doc

It’s kind of like a soap film that will stretch out and form a sheet of soap across the ring of a bubble wand. The plastic stuff will eventually harden, though.

If you have access to the inside of the structure, you can use almost anything clear for glazing. I’ve taken a sheet of the clear plastic used for photo album pages and used that. It works great, and it’s easy to cut with scissors.
