lookin to model wire fence in ho the type you find around farm fields. Any ideas?
these are two techniques i saw at a train show once…
using a small drill, drill holes in a small wooden post, then string wire threw as many posts that you want, be careful to keep all the holes as close to the same hight as possible. That may be a little difficult for Ho, putting many holes in the small post, so mabey this will work for you,
straighten out as many wires as you want to go threw a single post. Then on the ends glue them to toothpics painted the same color as your posts will be, then glue the toothpics to the posts on the side and repeat for as long of a fence you want
Try using “tule” - I think that’s how you spell it - it is basically wedding veil material. It will give you the page wire fence look if you put it horizontal, a more chain link look it you turn it 45 degrees. Find it in craft stores like Michaels. Takes paint ok, so you can spray it grey or rusty colours. Use “microdowels” for fence posts. One source for 1/12" dowels (about 7 1/4" in HO scale) is www.leevalley.com

I use common sewing thread. Dark brown seems to look better than black. I put a couple of drops of white glue on my index finger and run the thread through it, pinching between my thumb and finger. This teeny bit of glue dries invisible and keeps the thread from sagging between the posts. It’s a bit messy but the white glue comes off my hands readily with warm water.
