wiring the SC-2 for TMCC

Okay, I know that one fo the switches has to be wired to the SW-1 terminal on the SC-2 with all three connections (straight, common and curve). What I’m not sure of is all the other switches. Do they need to be wired the same way or just the straight and curve connections? Can I still “daisychain” the power from one switch to another. Why can’t you just wire a separate transformer to the power terminals on the SC-2 and that supply the power? Any clearing of the confusion or maybe I just need some sleep would be greatly appreciated.

You need to supply common to all the ports of the SC-2, as they are not connected internally. I just run little jumpers from block to block on the SC-2 (BTW you can switch hot from the SC-2 for other applications).

You still need to supply hot to the switches, since the SC-2 just connects the appropriate terminal on the switch to common when it activates its relays. I guess you can do this any way you want; I found it convenient to set up some terminal blocks next to the SC-2 so I could route hot along with the two SC-2 wires to each switch.

In addition to the above, switching the common at the SC-2 makes it easier to wire in a non-derailing feature.

Thank you very much. Got it up and running on the first try thanks to you.
