If anyone watches the Wisc. political ad, footage of the train appears to be a Japanese BULET TRAIN.
Oh yeah we see those bullet trains all the time here in Wisconsin. Especially when we go hunting for snipe and hodag.

Seen it already. Guys saying stop terrorisim by not photographing trains. At least thats what I got out of it. Very disgusted by this ad. One thing is for sure, he just lost many many many votes because of it.
Is this ad Bush or Kerry’s doing?
Did anyone think that the US government is actually secretly testing some Shinkansen trains that were sent over from Japan? I watched the ad on the internet and the train is one of the earlier Shinkansens. It was retired from JR and bought by the US government to operate in certain top-secret military projects. They’re doing experiments with it out in the woods of Wisconsin. It’s so top secret that even railfans don’t know about it. So this guy really could be a threat. All of this information comes my from my great uncle twice removed who works in the US military. I really shouldn’t be mentioning this, so don’t tell anybody. I suppose it’s OK, though, because they just blew their cover by airing the ad.
The important thing is, we must not allow the terrorists to get a hold of our Lionel missle car or our Lionel exploding boxcar or our Lionel nuclear fission car. They can have the aquarium car if they want.

Do those Shinkansen trains have shackles in them?
What’s a hodag?

Zoiks! What’s a Hodag?!!?
Well, that’s a long story… To quote the Rhinelander locals:
Just the fiercest, strangest, most frightening monster ever to set razor-sharp claws on this earth, that’s all … The Hodag made his first appearance in 1896. Gene Shepard, Rhinelander pioneer and timber cruiser, snapped its picture just before the beast sprang at him from a white pine log.
The Hodag is over 7 feet long and 30 inches tall. It has bristly hair and spikes along its backbone and tail. The vise-like jaws will crush anything unlucky enough to get near the Hodag’s menacing tusks and needle-sharp claws. You can relax a little (but only a little) because the Hodag chooses to devour white bulldogs exclusively (and only on Sundays).

It is a terrible beast that roams the woods and sometimes the streets of Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Some years back it even frightened the school board into designating the Hodag as the high school mascot.
