Jeremy this may help, Workbench upgrade needed.
In twisting the two threads a bit…!
For years before the “someday” I had only a small table as a workbench and a 20" window fan in the window as a paint booth. During those years I really got to enjoy the kit building aspect of the hobby. So when I finely made the move to have a Trainroom, the first priority was to get the Backshop and Paintshop up and running!
It has cost more then .79 cents…But is worth mention that all of the steel cabinetry and desk (workbench) are salvaged, so it didn’t cost an arm and a leg either.
The workbench, somewhat cluttered as usual.
Keeping the clutter under control is always a major effort, but with the files it helps a lot. I try to keep the detail parts, kits, finished rolling stork and locos, and reference materials in some semblance of order
And finely, the Paintshop.
If you like working in the shop as much as I do, it’s great to have a nice shop to work in…Hope this gives you some inspiration!
[tup][bow] Love the painting area!
The work tables are office style folding tables. Cabinets, shelves, and lighting are included.
As Info: The big old hulk on the top shelf is a live steamer my grand father made in the 1920’s.
Heartland,
WOW! Your’s is a top-of-the line example. Just looking at your photo encourages me to clean mine up, which lately has started to resemble Boston’s “Big Dig” project.

Heartland, I was told that a neat desk/workbench is a sign of a sick mind!![:-^]
Here’s mine

Hi
Here are my workbenches, they are only small as they are under my layout in a 11’ x 10’ room
This is the main bench which both a workbench and dispatchers office. Note the layout on the computer monitor, and the CCTV monitors showing the hidden storage loops. The keyboard is on the working area of the bench. The bench is in dispatcher mode in this photo.
This is the machine bench, why I didn’t buy that drill years ago I don’t know, it has saved so much time and effort since getting it.
