Is WS HobbiTac any better than matte Modpoge or white glue for gluing foliage onto branches?
Stuffs a bit pricey but if it’s worth it I’ll spend it. I’m looking for somthing better than Modpoge or Elmers.
loathar you have started alot of topics today… are you alright? [^] to answer your question i have used the HobbiTac before and works good, i have not had the oppurtunity to use the other 2 mentioned so i cannot say its better or worse.

Try Tacky Glue first. It’s a special white glue for crafts, so you can usually find it at AC Moore, or Micheal’s. It’s thicker then Elmers, and has a faster grab time. I use it for planting field grass, clump foliage and trees.

I still find that diluted white glue works best for me. And when you compare costs with the other glues, it is STILL, by far, the cheapest. I just use a medicine dropper (they’re bigger than most eye droppers) to pre-wet the foliage. For large areas, I use a spray bottle. Then I dribble on the diluted white glue. You can literally see it flow in and around the bushes. For trees, I just poke a small hole in the foam and plant it with some straight white glue. To add ground foam to trees, I use the MEGAHOLD pump bottle hairspray. Spray your tree, dunk in in the ground foam, and it’s ready to plant.
I have Hobbitac, and it does what it’s supposed to do. But, I find the brush in the lid a real pain. It brings up too much glue, and makes a mess to set it aside to use something better to apply the glue. My favourite at the moment is Ailene’s Super Tacky (I think I got that right without running downstairs to look at the bottle). It comes in a squeeze bottle with a narrow tip. Much more civilized to use. I got it at Michaels. I also use diluted white glue and cheap strong hairspray as was mentioned.
