A post WW2 report on attacking German’s railroads and its impact.
As a student of WWII, I enjoyed this video. Lots of good detail on the construction of bombs and their effect on the destruction of German railyards. The narrator makes the point that the bombing of communications and transportation, namely railyards, had a much greater effect on bringing the war to an end than the bombing of industrial targets or the terror bombings of civilian population centers.
I have always been amazed at the successful development of air power in WWII, considering the fact that the airplane was not even yet invented 45 years earlier. Although it is true that the accuracy of bombing was an issue throughout WWII, the development of the Norden bombsight did improve accuracy somewhat.
Thanks for posting this video.

I was reading some trivia about the 1960s TV show, “12 O’ Clock High.” The producers were showing the pilot episode to prospective sponsors for the series. One such prospect was Volkswagen. While watching the episode, which had a lot of stock footage from actual bombing missions, one of the VW reps said, “There goes our factory.”
Volkswagen decided not to sponsor them.
