Zardoz, you can operate without a unit equipped with ditchlights but it’s 20 MPH over public road crossings so it doesn’t happen very often.

Yeah, it’s a neat shot and I’ll bet he wasn’t going very far running like that, it’s a real pain to have to operate from the left side looking out the long hood and, is that cab signal territory?

Yes Bergie, Make the man happy. Let this one be photo of the day.

He’s got my vote!!

Very nice photo Mark, and that’s a very nice consist! Nice catch on that Maersk Sealand! [:)] Nick

Mark

Nice photos

Nice catch Dougal.Great shot.

This is verry true SD-45 are very rare i have gotten only a few shots of them in the last few years i did get to climb up in the cab of one that was sitting in a sideing it was on its way to the repair shop and 2 of the broken pistons were sitting on the floor i opened the side acces doors and the block was a mess where it had thrown a rod; this is a problem with the SD-45 it had a 20 cylinder block the crank was too long and all other EMD since have gone back to 16 cylinder arangments, the SD -45 was famous for snapping crankshafts becouse they were so long ;hope this was of some help [:)] glennbob

WOW![:p] What a catch.A WC SD45 and the only Maersk painted unit. I definately think Bergie should make this photo of the day[8D]!

NIce catch on the Maersk Sealand. I’m still waiting for my chance to catch her in the flesh.[8]
