Now that you’ve said what your first locomotive was, what’s your latest? Mine’s a Bachmann UP 0-6-0 switcher with a vanderbilt tender.
my last was a P2K Rio Grande SD45. and, of course, they got the orange all wrong. before that i got a couple of Athearn Rio Grande SD50’s. and, those things are awesome. excellent detail.
I got a couple at the same time. (christmas) I got: two Mehano MBTA trolleys, a Bachmann Spectrum amtrak F-40, a life like amtrak double header and a bev-bel/life like B and M f-7.
I just bought a pair of P2K Chessie SD-50’s , Proto is the best![8D][yeah]
Lastest was 5 months ago. A Spectrum Russian 2-10-0.
last one i got was a P2K GP7 Rock Island.
i was hoping to get 2 more come the 7th of February at the show i was planning on going to. instead i found out the 7th is the same day as my ACT Test.
My latest is a custom Atlas Master GP38-2 in Iowa Interstate colors that I got off e-Bay. Was hoping to have a P2K Rock Island GP38-2 in blue by now … maybe in May!
Also have an Atlas RI U30C on order … should be here soon!
Waiting for Rivarossi UP FEF-3 in two-tone gray! Should get it from the UPS man tomorrow aftrenoon! Last before that was the Bowser 4-8-4 kit. Next on the list is the Rivarossi 2-6+6-6, that will take some saving up for though…
I just went to the train store and have a Athearn Genisis Santa Fe F7 ABBA (numbers 46-46C) waiting for me when I get the money. But the last real purchase was a Athearn/Walthers P42.
Mine is a Broadway Limited E-7 in Great Northern Empire Builder green and orange. It is so fantastic what sound adds as an incentive to realistic operation! I can hardly wait till the end of Jan to get my 2nd unit. Then I will go for the switchers and hope for some F units later next year. I am already tearing out portions of layout to go for really broad curves with easements , and I may even add very light superelevation.
Latest was my Xmas present from my dad…Overland Brass Southern Pacific Daylight PA1 A-B-A set…GOD are those things beautiful!!!
i just remembered, tomorrow i get to go pick up a, i believe Con-Cor CNW F7 locomotive numbered “400”. that should be pretty cool.
i’m also going to the other hobby shop down there in hopes of loading up on either RTR or kits. also want to see if i can get a building or 2 maybe.
A Lionel HO-scale Challenger. And I have received noticed that a Broadway Limited Mikado is on the way.
I’ve got a couple of undecorated Broadway Limited heavy 2-8-2’s coming. They should be here this week. One will be done as a Southern MS-4 and the other as an L&N J-4.
i’m really looking forward to them.
Tom Watkins
Cacole…Just out of curiousity what did you pay for your Lionel Challenger. I was scoping one out at my LHS the other day (only one they had was UP…but they said they would get me the Clinchfield one if i wanted it)…but they are sticking to the list price and offering it for $700…my comeback was…why the heck would i pay $700 for a peice of plastic that will depriciate when i could pay that much or maybe a little more for one in brass that will be worth soemthing more someday. So im curious as to what you paid…if i could get one for $450 that would be better…but not for what they are asking.
My latest is a Athearn, Philadelphia Bethlahem & New England SW1000.
Just picked up a Stewart Western Maryland VO 1000. Runs great on DC, now I have to figure out what decoder will fit in the lil bugger!!![%-)]
My latest loco will be (if it ever arrives, it’s still back-ordered from trainworld) a Bachmann Union Pacific 4-8-2 Light Mountain.
An AMD103 that I couldn’t resist at $19.95.
