That would be the Doctors mode of transportation a time machine/space ship that looks like a British Police call box(phonebooth with light on top)…it is a nerd thing I guess [8D]
Thanks guys! Between the two posts I figured it out. (Kurt I can’t differentiate colors [;)])… Dr Who! Just never knew what it was officially called.
Oops, sorry Jason - I meant Sarpilot. I had a brain-fart.
Dr. Who has a daughter now! Latest episode, the last Time Lord was forcefully cloned by some aliens.
Well, gotta get to work, TTFN!
Well … we are holding our own, barely, with all the rain/flooding and tornado damage. We are fortunate as we live at the top of high hill and we will never have flood damage but our kids in Cedar Falls are barely clinging to a dry basement because of pumps and staying awake in shifts. They had no new water entering yesterday but the forecast for tomorrow is absolutely horrible with the possibilities of heavy rains. The Today Show is in Cedar Falls this morning and that’s never a good sign, hopefully the Weather Channel won’t show up … you know you are in trouble when their satellite trucks show up. Caboose Stop Trains is about a half mile from the river and I’m hoping the levee’s built in '94 will hold. So much for the 100 year flood theory.
I am fighting humidity problems in my basement, we have central a/c and have the dehumidifier running, I’m going to buy a couple more fans and possibly another dehumidifer. We are going to OK but what a pain the butt this is especially after our L O N G winter and N O spring. I see many more folks having bigger problems than us, pray for them.
Good Morning
We have a rainy 67,but no storms since last nite. After this week I will be daytime alone as wife will be watching two gr.sons for the summer. Better they stay at their house than here. As far as I am concerned, we raised our family and should not have to do it twice. Nobody get mad. I do understand there are times in life when we all need to pitch in. Not the case here, daughter and SIL work and I have told them many times I do not like this babysitting arrangement. Of course the wife is part of the problem as she goes along with this business.[soapbox]Well I guess I will just enjoy the rain and cooler temps.,TTFN. S.J.
Good Morning everyone.
Jim, prayers for your brother. Tough round he is going through.
Brent, the caboose remark was in reference to when you were building the shed, they posted some caboose photos and asked if that is what it was going to look like. I just carried it a bit further. All in good fun.
Doug, will say prayers again this morning, it’ll all work out.
God Bless,
dennis
Greetings from Taxachussetts. I got behind again…been a few days. We finally got everyone’s hot weather…been in the 90s for the past 3 days, high 80s day before that The two dogs must have eaten a drug-laced batch of food because they go out in this sweltering heat and take a nap on the deck, without using sunscreen no less. With the a/c cranking, the electric bill should be a real treat: just when you think you have survived the winter heating bills…Today I may be paying $4.00 for 87 octane, first time.
Anyone out their with a relative who steadfastly refuses to get a cell phone? Probably not. My FIL who is 87 lost his landline for 3 days, again. Asked him for the zillionth time “Why didn’t you just use your cell phone? Oh yeah, you don’t got one.” What happens if he and MIL are out and about in 95 degree heat or a blizzard and the car breaks down? Yesterday I think I got to him. Asked him to add up his local, toll, and long distance bills. When I told him what I was paying for cellular and two numbers, he nearly choked. Then he thought he had me: “What about what it will cost me in minutes to call you and my daughter and talk for hours like we do?” “It will cost you nothing if you get Verizon, because we have Verizon, Verizon-to-Verizon on a nationwide plan costs nothing beyond the basic package cost.” He’s taking the suggestion under advisement. Maybe he’ll get with the program when he’s 90. Landline phones are dying, nothing but a replication of service with no added benefit.
With Sunday’s heat I got the bright idea to avoid WORK, to not use the oven/stovetop (and heat up house), and to not stand outside at the grill in the broiling sun. Family coming to dinner. Picked up cooked fried chicken, deli salads, and fruit for dessert at the grocery store. Made a garden salad
Jon, good luck and to your son too. Hope the water stops. We need the rain.
Chief/88 - I will be spending my summer trying to change my little Farmer Ted into more of a Ferris Bueller.
RockIsland - arm doing well; the “torture” is not being able to go swimming…then listening to the littlest princess describe how great the water is…
jonadel - Folks pay top dollar for waterfront property around these parts, enjoy it.
Dennis - I remember! It also carried on when I was discussing that that LTS was in discussions with some local businessman about bringing a caboose to town to restore it and put it on display… Still - I need to cut down some trees… and I could use some ‘expert’ assistance, and seeing that you recently cut down trees and are a ‘licensed’ surgeon I figured you’d be perfect for the job! [;)]
Jack - Nope auto a/c is still on the fritz. Can’t get that taken care of till Susie-Q’s Solara is fixed. I keep reminding my friend that I need to get my A/C fixed or I soon will melt in this heat. Soon… hopefully… soon.

LOL @ Ferris Bueller… Bueller… Buelller???
Lexi is definitely a trip! Gotta lover her!
HI GIZ,
WOW its 94 as of 2 bells here this afternoon. Got up early at 530 was cooler at 68 so took dog for walk then did a nice easy 4.5 miles. Showered went to school for last day, no computer so read paper then visited with principal. Thats it I am officially done for the summer.
AS ALICE COOPER SANG " SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER". One of my favorites all right.
BUCKEYE can’t wait till friday nite. I’ll bring the big ANTI GRITs machine in case of any attack. Should be a great meet with YOU and JOHN. Great talks about DA SOUTH are in order.
BRUTUS and KURT LOVE DA TARDIS where are they available for purchase? Love keeping those doors opened, get that hole feeling of being weightless.
B GOOD or B GONE,
laz57
Not much happening now. Taking it easy. Congrats Laz on the final day. I have a trauma cart that I have been making a project of and should have it in service soon. It is definately needed. We have one particular anesthetist who, anytime we have an emergency heart, when she is on call, we have a gunshot wound right afterward. It is timely that we get this in action now.
On a personal note, if anyone wants to see the movie we did, Sony has come up with 750 theaters so far and if you get people in your area to go to www.fireproofthemovie.com and follow the site to where you can request it in your city. If enough folks do request it, it will open there as well. It does have a 1:1 scale train scene that is pretty good, if I do sayso myself. Anyway, It will be premiered September 26th.

Thanks for the help with the insurance adjuster Jack but I don’t think he bought it. He showed up with two guys in white coats and made me look at ink blots for an hour. I told him I actually drive the trains better when I drink because it makes me concentrate harder.
STEVE
Jon, Thanks for posting an update, I was thinking of you guys when I watched the news from Iowa. Glad to hear you are on high ground and we will be praying for those in danger along with your son’s family.
I finally disguised that hole in the wall between rooms.
First the before picture. You can see that this area needed some work.
Now the midpoint picture.
And the final result.
This is a typical Pennsylvania Mountain, really just a high hill.
John,
That is really a nice job on the mountain ! However, I don’t think it would pass the inspection, I can’t believe YOU filled that outlet with all that dirt and rock.
Laz/Buckeye**, Sure hope you guys are well suited for your trip on Friday. Those fields in that area can really change aroma quickly. Maybe it was spoiled grits, not sure, but have seen them become very noticeable practically overnight. BTW aren’t grits derived from Soy Bean hulls?**
Evenin’ Folks.
Looks pretty nasty in the midwest and maybe more coming. Keep them water wings handy Jon.
Had to chuckle last nite, was watching one of my favorite shows “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” on the food network. He visited a place in Philly and sampled a couple of items that he had never eaten before, Scrapple & S.O.S. Yumyum…[dinner]
Shipped off one of my RI Geeps to have it converted from magnetraction to traction tires, hope the conversion lives up to my expectations. [:-^]
Good Evening Gentlemen:
Everytime I think things are slowing down, they pick back up. [:(] Work is driving me crazy! The good news it with all of the hours I am putting in, I don’t think about the fact that I cannot play golf…yet.
I did cut the grass this past weekend and I continue to work on my rehab. I hope everyone else is doing well.
RIJack: Thanks for the Comed tip, I will be looking into it.
Regards,
John
