2025 Coffee pot? Coffee, doughnuts, Bacon, "Eggs if you can afford them" & Cheese Biscuits

I sympathize. Almost all my closest friends from my younger days have passed. Of the three that remain, distance and the thrum of daily life have reduced our interactions to brief calls or visits at long intervals.

My wife and I had a similar conversation recently. We have had a number of social groups and friends over the years in the locations and eras that we have lived. As is the natural course of things we have lost contact with many and some have died. After that rather sad exercise we started to take an account of the new friends that we have added to our circle of acquaintances since moving 6 years ago. We have met many folks our age and some younger. We were amazed at the number of people out there who have similar life experiences, understand the cultural and historical references we make and have interesting life stories to tell. And of course there are all of those physical changes to discuss. I particularly like participating in this website. Its one place where I don’t have to explain my interest and appreciation of all things toy and real train related.

Take heart my friends there are many good people out there who are looking for contact and a chance to make a new friend, or willing to provide a listening ear.

Today I’m hanging with Kal-El.

Can you see him down there on the right?

He’s in the baggage claim area at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. I’m here for a job interview with Hudson.

PS: I rode a bus, a trolley and a train to get here and saw 3 NS unit trains south of the West 130th Street yard on the way in.

Good Luck Becky. I hope all goes well. Kal hasn’t aged a bit in all these years.
