Welcome back aboard! They’re right, this software is waaaay better and easier to use. You don’t need third party image hosting anymore. You just upload photos directly from your phone or computer. And I never got past basic.
Welcome back on board, 8ntruck
Welcome back 8ntruck! Good to “see” you again!
Oh, and I don’t log out either. I suppose I’m gun-shy after what happened with the old Forum!
Oh my gosh, so did I. And I thought I was the only dinosaur left.

Welcome back 8ntruck!
Hello @8ntruck
Same here and I have a box of unpunched cards in the “attic”. It was quite a change when I bought my first computer and not having to wait for the job to run. I also have a slide rule stashed away.
The only letter I ever earned in high school was from the Slide Rule Club
I also was president of the club for one term.

No unpunched cards here. I do have my dad’s and my old slide rules. They still work, too.

Welcome back, 8ctruck!
Next to no train time hereabouts lately. It’s summer–well, it is this Friday–and mowing, tractor work, and preparing for this year’s National civil War Artillerists’ Region XII School of the Piece (learning how to safely work with blackpowder artillery) are monopolizing whatever time my classes and preparing to preach allow. I am slowly starting to get the decals on my customized Arkansas & Missouri caboose (#170), and I am finishing up writing a brief “What do I collect” for Rene (which is taking a long time because of the need for good pics).
Woo-Hoo! Wish I could be there! That must be a sight to see!
This sounds very interesting!
My week won’t have much train time as I’ll be up in Palomar Mountain for a few days. Scenery is going to be beautiful but no trains around for miles and miles.

In case you’d like to learn more.
Thanks!
I learned a life lesson today. A depressing one. Sooner or later you reach an age where it’s probably not safe to randomly Google the names of old friends you’ve lost touch with over the years.
I knew a lovely girl who was in her late '60s, but we fell out of touch. Me and some folks I know who knew her… well. We knew her old neighbor, that’s how we got word. Her family never passed on any information about a memorial service or anything. I regret not spending more time talking to her.
Fortunately, as far as I know, she was buried under the right name.

Uh-huh. I’m there.
