2025 Coffee pot? Coffee, doughnuts, Bacon, "Eggs if you can afford them" & Cheese Biscuits

Thanks for the kind words!
And as far as customizing is concerned in my mind now’s the time. Demand for Post-Wars is dropping (let’s be honest, they’re a generational thing) so those in less than perfect condition can be found for VERY reasonable prices now and make great candidates for custom and fantasy paint schemes. I’ve got all the prototypically correct models I need now so from now on it’s “Post-War Playtime!” As a matter of fact I’ve done a fantasy job I’ll show everyone later, I don’t THINK I’ve shown it before.

I want to take a moment to thank Firecrown for the $100 gift card they gave me! I wasted absolutely no time having fun spending it in the store updating my Special Interest Publication library! Best part, besides all the articles I will finally get to read, is that I did nothing exceptional to earn it besides doing what we’ve always been doing on the forums. Sharing information, applauding other’s accomplishments and generally having fun sharing photos!

Ditto that! I’m happy you got one too, I always enjoy your contributions to the forum.

I too wasted little time picking up something to add to my library. It feels nice being rewarded simply for being here, doing what I like doing. I almost feel guilty about it. $100 for posting some pictures and talking trains with others? Wowsa!

I’ve been very glad to see a number of familiar faces back here, I was a little worried the forum might never recover. Nice to see everyone’s pictures. Feeling very appreciative.

I 100% agree with both of you. Thank you Firecrown for the $50! I don’t know what I’ll use it for yet but I know it will be good.

and yes there’s two towns in-between union and pacific their just tiny like the third cousin is the sheriff mayor and DA for the town and his cousin jimbo is prosecuting attorney and deputy and gas station attendent kinda small

I’d be remiss if I didn’t wholeheartedly thank Firecrown as well for the gift cards! That was totally unexpected!
One has been put to work and a copy of “Lights, Camera, Lionel Trains!” is on the way! And since it’s got Roger Carp’s name on it I KNOW it’s going to be good!
Thanks so much again Firecrown!

Firecrown’s generosity is kick-starting my layout adventure, as I picked up some track laying tools.

Has anybody else noticed the (welcome) pick up in traffic in this forum over the last week or so? Back in January, we were lucky to see a handful of posts per day; now, we’re seeing a handful (or more) per hour. This growth augurs well!

It’s rapidly returning to the way things were 10+ years ago before all the unaddressed tech problems started turning people off. Speaking of turn offs, I wonder how the “pay for your say” system is working in ogreville?:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

@palallin I have noticed things are once again somewhat lively. It’s nice to see!

Spring must finally be arriving, because I’ve gotten hit with my first cold of the year. Oh what fun… not!! I seem to have a knack for catching things from other people without leaving the house myself.

I wasn’t up to much at all today, but did chip away at a small piece I have found myself writing for CTT. I’m making good progress on my rough draft.

Hopefully I start feeling better tomorrow. Had to cancel some plans with a loved one that I was looking forwards to, as we’re both under the weather.

Hope everyone else manages to stay happy and healthy as the springtime ailments start going around.

Yes, I would say forum activity seems to have exploded in the last week or two. Hopefully the admins agree.

@El_Fixes_Things, I hope you feel better soon. Colds are aggravating!

Something nasty’s going around Ellie. A rotten cold caught up to me and the wife last week and we’ve both been miserable. We’ve pretty much gotten over it by now. No fun for us at all.

well, I’m not going to ask how you managed to give it to me, but please don’t do it again

Maybe the germs were on that smoke unit rebuild kit I sent you? If that’s the case I’m SO sorry!

@Flintlock76 I merely jest… that must have been over a year ago by now! One hell of an incubation period if you ask me. Smoke unit is still happy, ofI’m sure the actual source was a family member.

PS: That smoke unit kit was very helpful, my 681 wouldn’t be the same without it! Can’t thank you enough for the generosity.
