Howdy. Tim here again. I wanted to see about getting the correct cars for the 2055 Loco. I think the sets varied over the years. Does anyone know which cars accompanied this loco in different years?
Any help on this would be great.

The 2055 was offered in three freight sets; it came with the 6026W whistle tender in all three.
1953: 1503WS – 6462 black gondola, 6465 two-dome tank car, 6456 black hopper, 6257 non-illum. caboose.
1954: 1503WS again, but maroon or black hopper, sometimes a green gondola instead of black.
1955: 1533WS or 507 (dual numbering system that year) – 3562-50 yellow barrel car (but sometimes gray), 6436 quad hopper (black or maroon), 6465 tank car, 6357 illuminated caboose.
There was also a passenger set in 1953 – 1502WS; the tender here was the 2046W, with the 2421, 2422, and 2423 all-silver Pullmans.

I got this set from my father in law after I married his daughter. They had beat it up and abused it but after 3 hours I got it work like new. It has the 2055 engine and tender, the silver 2 dome tank car, the NYC gondola, and the LV maron hopper.It also had a red(ish) caboose lettered for the s.p. After all this time and abuse the cars are on my layout and the engine is assigned to a thru freight. PS, I am sorry I know these are toy trains but I still like to “operate” them, I switched over from scale because I LOVE the working add ons a dn the smell of Lionel smoke!
Asch a better help would have been the numbers on the cars as lionel made a few different nyc gondola’s and 2 dome tank cars in silver color.
