So can we call that the “Cookie Monster” system?[:D][}:)]
#5 is alive …
No, sponsored by the letters ‘C’, ‘S’, ‘X’ and number 2.
I like the heratige , but hate the paint job
Somebody had a bit of skill and had to work fast to produce this unofficial Chessie The Cat heritage unit:

And of course, this is probably close to what a B&O F40PH-2 would have looked like:
The irony of the the Chessie cat is that it made its debut in the middle of ACL/SAL territory
Second Chessie Heritage Unit
Here are a couple I caught recently…

I was at West Third St. in Cleveland (C&O’s HQ) for the official ‘unveiling’ back on August 30, 1972:

gmpullman - Nice memories. Thanks for sharing. [Y][8D]
CSX probably left the spraygun loaded when they shot the 1982, which was leading symbol I015 in Cumberland, yesterday. I think the fade works on the L&N and Seaboard units.
1869 finally made it to Cumberland, and I’m a fan…

It also looks like CSX6394 may have gotten a RF&P nose job by someone
As a concept piece the hi-lo mix works pretty well. They probably should have cut the long hood paint at the cab, but I get trying to symbolize transition.
Since prototypical accuracy isn’t really the goal (and all of their “honoring” units), maybe they could mash up a paint scheme for a historical never diesel road. That Big 4 cross would look good.
Or how about the P&E logo on a PC or NYC unit?
1853 released into the wild:
My only complaint is that the NYC’s lettering standards got lost in the transitions fron NYC to PC to ConRail to CSX.
It’s a mashup with an Easter egg. Their Alco FAs had a similar lettering size and placement. The font is called “Grand Central” and is based on the signage at Grand Central Terminal.
22 days to do a paint job.
