A Marx Photo Album

Born in 1946 in the first wave of baby boomers, I arrived on the scene too late to have photographed the steam locomotives and first-generation diesels that could still be seen in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Instead, I attempt to recreate the rail fan photos seen in books like Don Ball, Jr.’s AMERICA’S COLORFUL RAILROADS using the toy trains in my collection.

Early on, I decided to specialize in collecting toy trains made by the Louis Marx Company. (My very first electric train set, which I received when I was about 5 years old, was made by Marx.)

Using the Classic Toy Trains forum, I started this thread to share some of my photo recreations made using Marx trains, and for other Marx fans to share their photos.
