Anybody heard anything about Rivarossi C&O 2-6-6-6

I heard they were evaluating it for rerelease, but I haven’t heard anything else.

Anyone know what’s going on? Rivarossi’s website is down and www.hornby.com is useless.

If Rivarossi was ever planning to release such a locomotive, that idea probably died when they declared bankruptcy and were bought out by Hornby.

better let the bankruptcy and business dust settle down and wait, like Athearn and MDC/Roudhouse, let the gears get back in shape.

To be honest, if the Rivarrossi lokies are to return to the market, their gonna up the
model scaling as BLI, LifeLike, Bachmann, Athearn are all hitting the door with quality lokies, and the big surprise is Athearn returning to steam in their Genisis line, I have the 2-8-2 in NKP colors.

RR did good with the 2-6-6-6, I hope Hornby continues their drive.

If your looking to buy the 2-6-6-6, better hit ebay.

and BTW I have the 2-6-6-6 when I get my virginian line going.

If Hornby does decide to re-release the Allegheny, probably all they’ll have to do is put sound in it, since the drive and detail is really incredible as it is. I had the traction tires go off about two years ago, and it pulls just as well without them. A truly fine locomotive in my book–hope Hornby decides to re-issue it when everything gets straightened out.

They are a great model and probably will be released again someday if Hornby got the rights to build it. Time will tell if they are going to produce it. The market for that engine is there if and when they decide to produce it again.

I wi***he 2-6-6-6s were cheaper. Than I could start saving for one. Maybe IHC will make an affordable one. I already like their drive systems.

Didn’t you guys hear? Rivarossi/Hornby is planning to release HO Alleghenys, Big Boys, and NYC Hudsons this fall.

hmm, their old equipment might become real collectors items…

I have heard rumors about BLI making a Y6B, I emailed them asking, they replied once saying nothing was really in the plans…

but I got ANOTHER reply saying “I don’t know hte answer to your question at this time. As soon as that info’s available, it will be posted on the website.”

maybe they are, maybe they arent…

but I had similar styles responses when I asked about a Matrox vidcard, responses saying…no, no nothing now or like that…

I agree Rivarossi could never be the same today with BLI, LL and Bachmann and even Athearn making super loco’s, they’ve upped the quality from time to time but loco’s from BLI is lightspeed ahead.

£ what is this? £ The Big Boy is supposed to be £255, which is like how many US dollars?

I am already saving pennies. Oh yea!

Thats about $450 US depending on currency conversion rates…
