I hope some one can help me with an Athearn stiff diesel motor. It is out of the frame of a F7A and is stiff when turned over by hand. What can be done to remove stiffness?
yank off the flywheels so you can get to the base end as well as the nose (brush) end. while running on minimal DC, rig up 3-4v and a micro drop of hob-e-lube or equiv on the bearings in there.
Is it still stiff motor in hand? I have found the bearings/bushings on the ends of the worm can gum up, once the worm is out, push the truck along, it should wheel free-er - not like a matchbox, but free-er.
