Sure does look nice! And it sure beats the old Rivarossi! The blue New York Central oval on the front isn’t as bright and washed out as the pictures make it look.
I think all this is proof that BLI really did their best to make a great looking model.
Wow! Thats one sharp looking model! I agree, the detail and paint far surpass the MTH model. Gotta love brass!

I like all the details and the lines. I can’t speak to accuracy, so I won’t comment about that. It seems nicely finished, and I would hope to have a side-by-side review/comparison published in MRR soon. Why not?
The only observation I have is in the pilot truck. The brake actuator pistons/rods, whatever they are, and the brakes themselves seem a bit more crude than I would expect to see on a brass model. Obviously the trucks are not brass but cast metal, so I don’t expect to see brass details and application. However, I would have liked to see slightly more refined molding. Everything else I see is most impressive.
