The Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad put up a new sign. It is on 80/94 Mile marker 13.4 in Indiana on the North Side. It can be seen from mile marker 13.1 traveling East.

Now if only they had a Little Joe on the point…
I wonder if they will be replacing the GP-38s any time soon? They are well maintained but starting to get up there in years and are probably fully depreciated at this point.
Hopefully, the next order will be for SD70Ms.The LAST thing we need are more Trash 9s.[xx(]
SD70M-2’s and Evolution Series are probably too big for South Shore. The Joes were also too big but they were cheap and available when South Shore needed them. I would guess that South Shore will probably have NRE or some other rebuilder upgrade the GP38-2’s when the time comes.
When I took a tour of the C.S.S. shops. They are very happy with the GP 38s.
The CSS&SB is so short and flat that anything bigger would just be a waste. Most of their trains are fairly short also.
