If the graffiti artist would do this caboose…[dinner] Easy Tag!
…Is that like a request?
give it some time to hit the right city.
Yeah, thats the first thing I think of…I hope some thug tags that.
It is great that the Burlington Northern and final Northern Pacific Caboose paint scheme is still being applied about 4 decades later.
To save a few dollars the shop crew used the same BNSF logo decals that have been applied to the Auto Racks. That logo does not look right for some reason.
Andrew
Thats very cool to see. the logo is a little strange, but that green looks good! Also it has a airhorn on top.
Yes, the BNSF swoosh logo is way too small and should take up more room.
the BNSF logo is a little small but it the paint job looks nice
That’s a good looking caboose, for sure. Obviously intended as a shove platform.
I for one hope the scum bag taggers manage to keep their grimy paws off of this one. [soapbox]
I also agree that the BNSF wedge logo looks odd against the Cascade Green paint.
Its just nice to see a “Modern” caboose.
Hittin a caboose is like a delicacy, this caboose will be eatin alive unless the BN can keep it out of the big cities, which we all know wont happen.
I think it sucks they should left it with a BN logo the swoosh doesnt look right with cascade green!
[tup]
It seems as if it would back a nice set up. Park it on a siding in a city with a couple of gumshoes watching, bust all the rejects that go near it.
That is a very impressive job.
When the Cascade Green took over the Mandarin Orange of the Frisco, I thought I’d never like it. But I do now. Hope it comes my way, but probably not.
i also believe that the logo is two small but the mix of BN and BNSF is very cool. but what really struck me is the generator or alternator is connected to the 3rd wheelset via pulley ingenious
An alternator? I’ve never seen that before, but, then, I haven’t seen too many active duty cabooses either. I’m more inclinded to believe that is a drive pulley and an air compressor. There’s probably an air tank under there somewhere too. I highly doubt the horn feeds off the the air in the train brakes… Of course, I could be wrong… have been before.
[edit] Looking at it again… I notice the diameter of the upper pully is a little small to be driving a compressor; it would be much larger. I suppose it could very well be an alternator which, of course, would make more sense as it could charge batteries which power a compressor and what appears to be the air conditioner I just noticed.
Duh! [D)]
Has anyone heard of graffitti proof? There are several brands of this marvelous stuff.
Rgds IGN
Smith & Wesson comes to mind on the topic of graffiti proof.
They already got some specialized graffiti paint that beats the graffiti proof paint, I heard of some people actually using it on their pieces. It prevents most people from painting over your graffiti.
Because if there’s one thing you don’t want, it’s your vandalism being vandalised.
It great to see the Caboose repainted and use for yard work. I sure miss them!
