Dear Chad,
Last time I went to Silverwood, we were chased off.
Nice pictures.
Sincerely,
Daniel Parks
OK I did something wrong. bear with me while I figure it out.
Chad…Enjoyed the photos.
Where exactly were you? The only place I’ve seen them run anyone off of is the hill in between where the tracks split. Also if its been a while science you were there, They have mellowed out a lot recently.
Thanks [8D]
Nice pics…I think I finally figured out the method on that same host site…I was unable to enter slashes for dates to create an album due to an inoperative slash key on my home laptop…I created the album with slashes on my work computer, so when I get home tonight, I’ll try it out with some Altoona Pa. area pics…
Nice shots Chad [tup] !!!
Theos are some pretty awsome pic! Good work(I wish mine came out that good
Chad:
Is the old “Martinez Spur” STILL present on Cajon Pass? The Warbonnet GE and stop sign shot is adjacent the new Martinez Siding real close to where the old spur switch was. I happened just a few weeks ago to go over the new pavement that follows the tracks (out of sight in your photo), and just can’t recall if the old spur on the original Summit alignment is still in place or not.
Science that area is now fenced off [banghead] I cant tell where it ends, but there is a spur track (looks to have been totaly re-worked). It’s been moved some to allow for the new track. I would say it’s not too different but it has changed some. I like this spot because it seems there is always something going on and it’s the best chance for having multiple trains in one shot. Monday I will get my pix from last weekend back. Those pix have several multi train shots from the top that I will post if they turn out.
And thanks for the compliments guys, glad you enjoyed them.
Hey Chad, you’ve got a good eye.
I noticed in your #6 photo that the trail units appeared to be in the old Warbonnet red and silver paint style. Does BNSF still have the Warbonnet out there, or haven’t they caught up with these units yet?
Erik
Hi Erik,
I would guestimate about 1 out of 10 units is in Santa Fe paint. And out of those about 4 reds to a yellow. We are getting a lot of NS power out here on the BNSF too. And CSX units are a common sight on UP trains.
