I was out railfanning in Naperville, IL yesterday. Main 2 got the green. An intermodal rounded the corner with a sparkling BNSF NEW LOGO ES44DC #7761 on the point! The other engines were a BNSF H2 ES44DC and a CSX YN2 AC4400CW. We got a lot of waves and honks as he went by. That made my day, seeing the New Logo! It sure was beautiful. [:)] Heads up to everyone is Portland, this train is heading to Portland right now or is already there. The train ID was Z-CHCPTL. Here is a picture of the sparkling New Logo:
Nice… I figured if they started showing up anywhere routinely, it would probably be the race track. Sometimes I really miss that area. I’d like to see what antennas they have mounted under those domes.
Extreme jealousy lurks in the heart of this Naperville resident who was in downtown Chicago working on such a gorgeous day and hasn’t even spotted a glimpse of an Evolution unit from the Metra expresses yet!
Nice photo, but I think that the BNSF came up way short with the new logo.
In an official press release, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway officially changed its name to BNSF Railway. (kinda like CSX.) Basically got rid of the words behind the acronym. Seems everybody is running from their heritage. Kinda sad really.
Not only that like the Union Pacific Railroad. I think that UP would be better as UP Railway instead of Union Pacific Railroad. “UP Railway” sounds kind of neat.
BNSF Railway.
CSXT Railway.
NS Railway.
UP Railway.
