Jim, If you venture to York, you will see quite a bit of AF as well as other brands of S gauge. One booth has a ton of AF parts and accessories.
Our thoughts and prayers will be with your wife, my wife had one done quite a few years ago. I think they have perfected it a little and the healing process is much shorter than it used to be.

Buckeye, hope all goes well. They say nothing will bring a guy to his knees like prayer and a kidney stone. My FIL is prone to getting them and I hope it doesn’t hit me.
Jim, my best to your wife. Getting both hands worked on at once requires a lot of patience for the patient and certainly a lot of understanding and help from the spouse. After all, who is going to wipe the tail end?[:O]
Dr. John, I am looking forward to a little cooling off, we have the AC running to cool things down a bit. It is hot and the kids are running around like crazy. I am not sure 38 is what I had in mind though.

More rain here. It’s a good thing. Rains here with saturated ground mean about 1 foot in the lakes per inch. One lake in NW Dallas region that was 18 feet low came up 9 feet from the rains last week. Half the lakes are now above normal level and the other half are only down 6 - 9 feet.
Daughter back from the band ski trip over the weekend. Annnnndddd - she broke up with her boyfriend - YES! [:-,]

Serviced JD mower [new sprakplug, blades, oil filter, airfilter, lubed fittings and synthetic oil]. Mowed grass and put out more fertilizer. Then took Pam’s boss and his two kids fighing at the pond. They caught fish [I did too]. Sowed grass seeds on one pond bank and raked to stir soil. Hope it rains tonight or tomorrow to soak everything in.
Buckeye, hope all is well. Was going to call but too late when I got in from guiding.
Ran trains today. PW Berk and Hudson. Man they smoke. Berk when running at a slow [not creeping] speed puffs the prettiest smoke rings.

Haven’t stopped in here for awhile, been busy this spring. Spent the day “slowly” plowing under the alfalfa, getting the field ready for the sweet corn. Which brings up the question, all yellow or bicolor sweet corn as to your favorite. I plant mostly bicolor.

Got a chance to trace my less than expert wiring tonight in hopes of solving the signal problems with TMCC. Back 2 year ago when running wire to my control panel I used an old extension cord from a wall outlet to the board for transformer power, most of which is hidden inside a wall. Underneath the board I installed an electical box and outlet receptical to which was wired the other end of the extension cord. Yup! No ground wire in the extension cord! At the time this outlet was only intended for power to 2 old groundless transformers. Who need a ground wire? With only one transformer on the layout so far I used the other receptical for the TMCC wall wort. So as you can imagine this caused my signal problems, although 2 of my locos seemed to work fine without ground. I ran a temporary ground and Bingo! TMCC even likes Brunswick Green now.
Unfortunately, the first victim of full time 18 volts has been discovered. The K-Line caboose, mentioned earlier today stopped smoking. Figuring it was simply out of fluid upon refilling it I noticed the plastic body near the chimney badly melted. Not a pretty sight and of course the N5c no longer smokes. [V] Anybody have luck claiming warrantees on K-Line products these days? [banghead]

It is a cloudy 52 degrees. Going DOWN to 50 today, with rain likely , this afternoon.
Up early this morning. I have an appointment in Cambridge with a dentist. Had a tooth break off crown, and need some repair. Then, I will do the grocery shopping. Going to be a long day.
No work on trains, lately. I need to make some time for that. We have been busy. This weekend, we are driving to Niece’s. in Zanesville, on Saturday… Then, on Sunday, we are driving up to Brunswick, to the Daughter’s for Easter Dinner. Need to rob piggy bank for gas money.
Dining Car is ready. Time for early breakfast. Will send to " Points West" for the second serving.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday it was sunny and warm with temps in the 70s, and now we are back in the cold with it being cloudy, windy, and temps in the 30s. I went home, ate supper, sat in my chair, and promptly went to sleep until 9 PM. Consequently, I did not do much last night. I see the dining car arrived early from “Points East”. Buckeye, good luck with the stones. I hope everyone has a good day.

If you can get it, I highly reccomend getting the Dec. issue of OGR. They have some very usefull tips regarding TMCC and DCS. One thing is running a ground between layers of the layout. Should you have any areas that the tracks cross or come close, you should have ground between. Also, they suggest having the TMCC base plugged directly to a outlet or grounded cord and not going through a surge protector. A few more suggestions that should help.

Mornin’ boys. Stormy in the 40’s in the Mid-Atlantic region today. Good thing I finished all the yard work yesterday. Even transplanted hostas around the pirate ship[oX)]. Doc gave me [tup] on all my tests (guess I wasn’t falling apart afterall), but said my good cholesterol is low. Then prescribed wine everynight; how’s that for an Rx?
